Your dedicated senior DBA runs a comprehensive SQL Health Check — surfacing hidden risks in performance, security, and configuration that your team and other tools miss.
We deploy 24/7 monitoring with proactive auto-healing. Your SQL Server runs smoother, faster, and safer — and you stop worrying about it.
Don't take our word for it. Here's what happened when these teams chose Red9.
Leland Management faced crippling software slowdowns. Their vendor proposed a six-figure hardware upgrade, but Red9's Health Check revealed inefficient queries as the real issue. Tailored performance tuning delivered dramatic results — without buying a single server.
"We view Red9 as an extension of our IT department. Their team is responsive, knowledgeable, and cares about their level of service. They always ask for feedback for further improvement. They are a true partner."
"Red9 is great. Very communicative, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable. Glad we have Red9 on our team."
We're not a generalist IT shop that spreads across dozens of technologies. SQL Server is all we do — and that focus changes everything.
Every DBA, every tool, and every process at Red9 is built exclusively for SQL Server. No divided attention, no generalist guesswork — just deep, specialized expertise.
Every engineer assigned to your environment has 15+ years of hands-on SQL Server experience. You'll never be a training ground.
Not 15 minutes. Not "next business day." Our average response time over the last 12 months is 7.3 minutes. That's faster than most internal IT teams.
Start with monitoring. Scale to full managed services. Our flexible tier structure means you only pay for the level of coverage you need today — and can expand as your business grows.
When a production SQL Server goes down, the first question is never "do we have a backup?" It's "how fast can we be back up?" Our database managed services make sure you like the answer.
Backup completion, disk capacity, and availability are verified every day. A failed or missing backup gets flagged and fixed before you find out the hard way, and your backup chain is checked against the point-in-time restore you'd actually need.
Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, log shipping, replication: we configure, monitor, and troubleshoot them. If a replica falls behind or a failover misbehaves, we know before your users do.
We help you set recovery objectives (RPO and RTO) the business can sign off on, then build your SQL Server environment to meet them. And if the worst happens anyway, our senior DBAs respond in 7.3 minutes on average, backed by 24/7 SQL Server emergency support.
SQL Server patches and cumulative updates are applied on a schedule you approve. Your servers stay current, supported, and secure without surprise maintenance windows. Planning a bigger jump? See our SQL Server migration and upgrade resources.
Wherever your SQL Server runs (on-premises, in the cloud, or a hybrid of both), the failure modes are the same: slow queries, blocking, missed backups, surprise growth. Our managed DBA services put one senior team on all of it.
Physical servers or virtualized on VMware and Hyper-V. We manage the SQL Server layer and tune it to the hardware it actually runs on, including the Windows settings that quietly throttle performance.
Azure Virtual Machines and Amazon EC2. Cloud moves the hardware, not the DBA work. We right-size compute and storage so you stop paying for headroom you never use.
"Managed" means Microsoft runs the infrastructure: the OS, built-in backups, the hardware underneath. Nobody at Microsoft is tuning your queries, resolving blocking, or watching your workload trends. That's still DBA work, and it's what we do.
Same story on AWS: the platform is managed, the database isn't. We handle performance, configuration, and capacity planning inside the limits RDS gives you.
Not sure which deployment fits your workload? Our SQL Server deployments comparison lays out the trade-offs.

Still have questions? Here's what clients ask us most.
Pricing depends on the plan you choose and the number of servers in your environment. We offer four tiers — Monitor, Essentials, Professional, and Enterprise — so you only pay for the level of coverage you need. Contact us for a custom quote based on your environment.
Monitor gives you full visibility with alerts you handle yourself. Essentials adds DBA-managed alerts, a 15-minute high-priority SLA, and 1 medium task per quarter for when you need expert hands. Professional is ongoing expert care — unlimited small tasks, monthly medium tasks, advanced monitoring, and expert insights, ideal for teams without a full-time DBA. Enterprise is white-glove service with custom change management, anomaly detection, and the most high-priority hours for mission-critical environments.
Every plan gives you access to senior DBAs with 15+ years of experience. The level of hands-on support scales with your plan — from monitoring-only on Monitor, to full service request coverage on Professional and Enterprise. Small tasks under one hour are included at no extra charge on applicable plans.
We specialize exclusively in Microsoft SQL Server. This singular focus gives us deeper expertise than generalist providers who spread across dozens of platforms.
Our average response time over the last 12 months is 7.3 minutes. For high-priority issues, every plan includes a 15-minute SLA. Emergency escalation is available for all clients.
You get a team of senior-level DBAs available 24/7/365 with proactive monitoring and automated maintenance — all at a fraction of the cost of a single full-time DBA hire. No PTO gaps, no knowledge silos, and no recruiting headaches.

Absolutely. With Red9 Managed Services, clients typically cut SQL costs by 25–75% through smart resource allocation, storage tuning, and license optimization — often enough to cover the cost of our services for an entire year.
Yes — we frequently work in co-managed environments, providing 24/7 coverage, monitoring, performance tuning, and complex migration support so your internal DBA can focus on strategic priorities.
Yes. Our plans are designed to scale with your business. Start with Monitor or Essentials, and move up to Professional or Enterprise as your environment and needs expand. We make transitions seamless.
Azure SQL Managed Instance is Microsoft's PaaS platform: Microsoft manages the infrastructure (OS, built-in backups, hardware). It doesn't tune your queries, resolve blocking, or watch your workload. That's still DBA work. Red9 manages the database layer itself, including on Managed Instance. Microsoft runs the platform, we make it fast.
Not exactly. DBaaS providers (Database-as-a-Service, like Amazon RDS or Azure SQL Database) rent you the platform and automate backups and patching, but they do not tune your queries, fix your indexes, or pick up the phone at 2 AM. Red9 is managed DBA services for the database itself. If you already run on a DBaaS platform, we manage what the DBaaS provider will not: performance, cost, and the workload.
